Woman shot, husband in custody after Brownsville domestic dispute

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A woman has been airlifted with a gunshot wound after a domestic disturbance at a Brownsville home.

Police responded to a 911 call about a domestic dispute at the home just before 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The man had reportedly shot his wife and was barricaded inside their home, according to police.

Officers were able to have a relative speak to the man on the phone, and they then were able to take the woman from the house.

Police say the woman had suffered a single gunshot wound and was airlifted to Regional One in Memphis.

The relative was able to talk the man into coming out, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Police have not yet released the man’s name because he has not been formally charged.
