New website is designed to help manage medications for seniors
Familes of senior encouraged to use website to prevent medication misuse
JACKSON, Tenn. — A new website is helping educate families of aging seniors about unintentional medication misuse.
In 2015, more than 100,000 seniors were hospitalized because they took too much of their medication too often. Home Instead Senior Care has developed letstalkaboutrx.com as a resource to help care takers.
The site has videos and interactive tools such as medicine trackers to help keep seniors safe.
“And medication management is a huge part of that,” said Jackson Home Instead owner Bryson McQuiston. “Because if medications get out of control, life can can tend to get out of control itself and we end up in the hospital.”
According to a new survey of seniors, one in five seniors have experienced challenges in managing their medications.
