3 charged in Dyersburg armed robbery

DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Three men are facing charges in a Thursday afternoon armed robbery at a Dyersburg store.

Dyersburg robberyJameel Davis, 22, of Dyersburg, Dennis Griggs, 24, of Dyersburg, and Dangelo Tyus, 19, of Nashville, all are charged with aggravated robbery, according to a release from Capt. Mark Moody of the Dyersburg Police Department.

Police responded just after 3 p.m. to the report of a robbery at Gatlin’s Food Mart on East Court Street, according to the release.

Witnesses told police two men came into the store and demanded money from the employee at gunpoint.

The two men reportedly ran from the store with the money before getting into a car waiting nearby.

Police spotted a vehicle leaving the area, and the driver would not stop and led police on a chase, according to the release.

The car fled into the Bruce Community until the suspects adandoned it and fled on foot.

Officers were able to chase down two of the suspects. The third was located later that evening and taken into custody without incident.

Police say they found the handgun used in the robbery as well as the money.

All three suspects were booked into the Dyer County Law Enforcement Center pending their appearance in Dyersburg City Court.
