Middleton looks to stay perfect in sectional round
MIDDLETON, Tenn — Teams still alive in high school basketball are looking to start a four-game winning streak to take them to a state championship.
For the Middleton Tigers, four more wins would extend their winning streak to 70 games, a streak that goes back all the way to beginning of last season.
Coaches said keeping the team focused on what’s next is their most important task.
“We have to keep our chemistry up to par and we have to like playing with each other, and this group of girls likes playing with each other and if you like playing with each other, then you’ll play for each other,” Middleton Tigers Head Coach, James Burkley said Friday. “We had a real good year last year by winning the state championship and then this year they worked to repeat it and we’re off to a pretty good start so far.”
A pretty good start meaning they haven’t lost a game yet heading into the sectional round.
Middleton plays Dresden Saturday night in the sectional round.
