Police search for stolen car after man shot multiple times
VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) – Officials are searching for a vehicle that was stolen from a driver who was found shot.
Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong tells media outlets that an officer found 52-year-old John Thomas lying face-down with multiple gunshot wounds in a parking lot in Vicksburg Sunday morning.
Armstrong says Thomas’ car had been stolen and police found no evidence at the scene.
Thomas was airlifted to Jackson, where he is listed in critical condition. Armstrong says Thomas hasn’t been able to provide a statement to police about whether or not he knows the shooter.
The stolen vehicle is a 2014 silver Honda Accord which bears a Warren County tag.
