Develey to bring 150 new jobs to Dyersburg
DYERSBURG, Tenn. — Develey, a company that produces brands including Tabasco, Del Monte and Gatorade, is opening its first North American production facility in West Tennessee.
Develey Corporation’s Board Chairman Michael Durach said his company is investing $20 million to begin renovating a 100,000-square-foot facility in April. It’s a partnership not only at the city level but something the state is proud of as well.
“This is one of the projects we’ve worked harder, I think, than any other across the state last year, so it was so exciting we decided to announce they were going to be locating in Dyersburg,” Tennessee Economic Development Commissioner Randy Boyd said.
The company says they’ll be bringing 150 jobs to the city. Develey officials said the company should be operating within a year.
Dyersburg also received two federal grants. One of the grants for $3 million is to assist with the sewer system. Another $4.4 million grant will allow the city to build a recreation area.
