Flooding affects roads in Gibson County
TRENTON, Tenn.-Heavy rains caused significant flooding Thursday in Gibson County.
In downtown Trenton, parts of the road were left completely submerged. First responders have prepared for the worst as we go into the night.
“Those signs are up for a reason. If you run up on a road, and it’s got a barricade up that says ‘road closed’, we put it up for a reason or the highway or state department put it up for a reason. You definitely need to turn around and not go around it and ignore it,” said Gibson County Sheriff Paul Thomas.
Emergency officials said they are staying in contact with local home owners and urging drivers to be alert to warnings on the roadways.
