Floodwaters recede from Bemis roadways

BEMIS, Tenn. — Floodwaters were receding Friday in Bemis after many roadways had been closed.

Residents who have lived in the area say they were able to walk around Thursday night but didn’t get out until Friday morning.

The Jackson Fire Department used rescue boats Thursday night to evacuate at least four people from homes.
