Madison Co. Sheriff’s Office warns of scam phone calls

 

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The sheriff’s office is warning residents about what they say are scam phone calls claiming to be collecting fines for missed jury duty.

Phone Scam AlertNumerous citizens have complained to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office about the calls, according to a release from the department.

The caller claims to be a Madison County deputy and says the resident must pay a fine for missing jury duty.

The sheriff’s office says the calls are a scam and asks residents to report them to the department.

If you get a call like this, the sheriff’s office asks you to report it along with any information you can provide, such as the number the call came from and any names the caller used.
