Parrotsville man charged with brother’s 2011 death

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say a Parrotsville man has been indicted in the death of his brother five years ago.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday that 44-year-old James Pate Williams was indicted on Feb. 22 on first-degree murder and arson charges.

Investigators say he is responsible for the death of 38-year-old Richard D. Williams, whose body was found in a burned home on Nov. 4, 2011 in Parrotsville.

The TBI says James Pate Williams was arrested Wednesday and is currently being held without bond at the Cocke County Jail. It is not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
