Buildings razed where 3 homeless people killed
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A work crew is razing buildings in Knoxville where three people were found dead at a homeless camp. According to the Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/13XUdfR ), owner PSC Metals, which has corporate offices in Ohio, did not return telephone calls seeking comment. The demolition was being done by a Corryton company. City officials issued an order April 19, instructing PSC to secure or demolish the buildings. Police found the first body on April 9, covered by blankets in a tent where four other homeless people were sleeping. The next day, another man’s body was discovered and, later that night, police found the body of a woman under one of the buildings. Three homeless people have been charged with second-degree murder and further charges are expected to be filed.
