Western Ky. Parkway eastbound lanes reopened

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) — A wreck involving a semi-truck shut down the eastbound lanes of Western Kentucky Parkway a few miles west of Elizabethtown for several hours. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials say the crash location was around mile marker 130. The wreck happened Tuesday when the rig, hauling dairy products, crashed into Valley Creek Bridge. Officials said the lanes reopened Tuesday evening, and the bridge is structurally sound, although railings on top of the side walls will need to be repaired this week. Temporary cones and barrels have been placed on the bridge in that area.
