Holy Week services begin at Jackson churches
JACKSON, Tenn. — Ecumenical Holy Week services leading up to Good Friday and Easter are under way.
Services coordinated by the Jackson Ministerial Association started at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Union University President Samuel “Dub” Oliver speaking.
The services are held to mark the last week in the life of Jesus along with his death and resurrection on Easter morning.
“I think this week is a week where certainly we are united in that, where it’s easy to have unity, all of us understanding the power of this week and what Christ did for us on the cross,” Oliver said.
All services begin at noon and are open to the public. Tuesday’s service is at First Presbyterian Church, and Wednesday’s location is Skyline Church of Christ.
The service on Thursday is at Light of Life Ministries. On Good Friday, First United Methodist will host the service.
