25th Annual Sheriff Buford Pusser Festival Underway in Adamsville
ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. – The 25th annual Sheriff Buford Pusser Festival kicked off Wednesday evening in Adamsville. The festival is being held at Adamsville City Park through Saturday, May 18, 2013, which is also part of National Police Week. The event is held to in honor of the former McNairy County Sheriff Buford Pusser who served three terms in office. The movie Walking Tall was based on Pusser and his law enforcement experiences. Saturday, the festival will honor the national and local officers of the year. They will also honor the fallen officers of Tennessee.
