JACKSON Tenn.- Law enforcement agencies held a memorial at the Carls Perkins Civic Center to honor officers who died in the line of duty. Officers from the Jackson Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol all attended the memorial. Officers were joined by city leaders to remember the fallen officers. “For these officers, for these heroes that unselfishly get out and do their job, day in and out, they don’t see themselves as heros but as servants,” said Chief Gil Kendrick. Organizers say this memorial is also a reminder the city needs to keep working to stop violent crime.
