Churchgoers gather for 4th day of Holy Week services
JACKSON, Tenn. — For a fourth straight day, West Tennesseans gathered for a special noon church service in celebration of Holy Week.
The weeklong string of services is put on by the Jackson Ministerial Association. Thursday’s service was held at Light of Life ministries with Pastor Jeff Rudy of First United Methodist Church speaking.
The services are held the week before Easter each year to mark the final days in the life of Jesus.
“We are looking forward through the crucifixion to the good news of Easter, which is the great message of hope, and that is that death is not the end — death does not have the final word but that life and hope do,” Rudy said.
The Good Friday services will be held at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeremy Brown of Journey Church preaching.
The service will begin at noon and is open to the public.
