Fire in downtown Selmer destroys at least 1 building

McNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — Fire officials say a Friday evening blaze that destroyed at least one building in downtown Selmer is now under control.

Selmer downtown fireA fire chief on scene said no injuries have been reported and that the fire was under control as of around 7 p.m.

Two buildings reportedly were damaged in the fire, and one of those, Vintage Choices, located at 113 Court Avenue, is said to be a total loss.

At least five fire departments and dozens of firefighters responded.
