JPD K9 Unit receives donation for new K9’s protective vest

JACKSON, Tenn. — Many people know there’s a huge dog show in town, but Saturday there was a different category presenting.

The Jackson Police Department’s K-9 unit held a demonstration Saturday afternoon showing how the K-9’s catch the bad guys.

The Jackson Tennessee Dog Fancier’s Association presented the unit with money to buy a vest for their newest K-9 coming in the fall.

“It’s the same ballistic rating as the vests we wear and it’s also stab resistant so if someone tries to shoot the dog or stab the dog it will help protect them from that,” Sergeant Brandon Moss said.

If you would like to donate to the K-9 fund or any other program you can contact the Jackson Police Department.
