Police arrest 3 after west Jackson chase
JACKSON, Tenn. — Officers took three suspects into custody Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop that led to a chase through a west Jackson neighborhood.
According to Jackson Police Chief Julian Wiser, the incident began when the department’s gang unit and U.S. Marshals performed a traffic stop near Hollywood Drive on a vehicle to serve a warrant for attempted murder.
After officers had stopped the vehicle and were talking to the people inside, the driver then backed up before hitting a patrol car and driving away.
The resulting chase ended around 3:42 p.m. near an apartment building in the 300 block of West Forest Avenue where the three suspects got out of the car and fled on foot.
All three were arrested within fifteen minutes.
Officers say the main suspect wanted on the attempted murder charge is a juvenile.
Chief Wiser said officers found multiple guns and drugs in the car.
There is not yet word on what charges the other two suspects may face.
