Man arrested and charged with child pornography
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man has been arrested for uploading and viewing child pornography on his cell phone.
Court papers say that on February 24, 2016, Kristopher Pickard uploaded child pornography to his Google Drive account using his cell phone. On February, 25, 2016, Google reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that these inappropriate images had been uploaded to their servers.
According to the affidavit, the Jackson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted record searches with the information provided by Google.
These searches led to the home of Pickard.
During an investigative interview, Pickard told an investigator that he used his cell phone to upload the images to his Google Drive account and that he viewed them while in Jackson. He then told the investigator that he deleted the images before an appointment with law enforcement.
A forensic exam was conducted on his phone where investigators recovered additional child pornography as well as some of the images uploaded to Google.
Pickard has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and tampering with evidence.
He is currently being held on a $15,000 bond.
