Shiloh Military Park remembers 154th anniversary of historic battle
HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn.-Shiloh National Military Park plans to remember the 154th anniversary of the Battle
of Shiloh next week.
Living history demonstrations and interpretive programs will be available for various audiences starting this Saturday and ending Friday, April 8. On Saturday, Confederate re-enactors will participate in cavalry, artillery, and infantry demonstrations.
“We hope that they leave with some of what those people went through 154 years ago, what that generation went through, what they suffered through, what they suffered through to give us the nation that we have today,” said Chris Mekow, a park ranger with Shiloh National Military Park.
Organizers invite everyone across West Tennessee to participate in the historic events. Both Union and Confederate camps will be open to the public Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m.
