JACKSON, Tenn. — Supporters, both two and four-legged, galloped their way through the Hub City Saturday morning to help one of the city’s most beloved rescues.

Redemption Road Rescue hosted their inaugural Cowboy Canter 5K Saturday morning.

Runners, dogs, and a miniature horse trotted their way through the race.

There was even a stick horse race to kick off the event.

“The rescue is all about the community. It’s about us going out and helping people who are, can’t help themselves sometimes, and going out and helping these horses,” RRR Director Lori Collins said.

All proceeds are going to help the rescue build a hay barn. Around 140 runners showed up to show their support.
