Westview’s Coady leaving position after 25 years as football head coach

MARTIN, Tenn — Don Coady and the Westview chargers have become a staple of West Tennessee football every fall for the last quarter of a century.

Tuesday, Coach Coady announced to his team that he’d be stepping down as the school’s head football coach.

School officials said Coady will be retirement-eligible with 30 years of classroom experience after the current school year and is exploring several options that would be financially beneficial to him.

Coady had a 199-97 record during his tenure at Martin with postseason play in 22-of-25 seasons.

The school’s principal said they’ll start looking for the school’s next head coach as soon as possible.
