Strong winds cause power outages in multiple counties
UPDATE – 4:30 p.m. — About 410 Gibson Electric Membership Corporation members are experiencing power outages in Gibson, Madison and Crockett counties in Tennessee and Hickman County in Kentucky, according to the utility provider.
All of the outages were caused by Wednesday afternoon’s strong winds. Crews are working at all five outage locations and will restore service as quickly as they safely can.
UPDATE – 4 p.m. — Crews have restored power to the affected customers in Gibson and Obion counties, according to the utility provider. Crews are continuing to work on the outage affecting 22 members in Crockett County.
GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — About 1,390 Gibson County Electric Membership Corporation members are experiencing power outages, according to a release from the utility provider.
The affected homes and businesses are located in Gibson, Obion and Crockett counties.
The outages began at 3:05 p.m. and were caused by strong winds, according to a release from the utility.
Crews were dispatched immediately and will restore service as quickly as possible, according to the release.
