Local group gives $2K donation for Child Abuse Prevention Month

JACKSON, Tenn. — “A person is a person, no matter how small.”

CMAWT gives check to Carl Perkins CenterThat’s the theme for Child Abuse Prevention Month at the Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

The Consolidated Medical Assembly of West Tennessee presented a $2,000 donation to the center Thursday to help combat child abuse.

Officials say the funds will be used to support a program that gives each child who completes a therapy treatment plan a Dr. Seuss book along with a personal note inside from anyone there that has helped them along the way.
