HENDERSON, Tenn. — Freed-Hardeman University’s new library had a special dedication Friday.

FHU library dedicationThe public was invited to the university’s Hope Barber Shull Academic Resource Center.

The university’s library director and and vice president of academic affairs made remarks as the new facility was dedicated to Hope Barber Shull who served as library director until her passing in March of 2013.

“I’m just happy that so many people like the kind of things that she liked,” Donald Shull, her husband, said. “It’s a good thing for FHU. It’s a good thing for our community.”

Before Mrs. Shull’s passing, she had long dreamed of a larger Freed-Hardeman library that would increase the materials available and better meet the expanding and shifting role of libraries.
