JACKSON, Tenn.- The American Cancer Society celebrates its 100th birthday this year. Organizers and people from the community celebrated with cake and coffee Wednesday morning morning at the Lift Wellness Center in downtown Jackson. The American Cancer Society said survival rates are improving. They asked people to bring $100 checks to the celebration in honor of the 100th birthday. “To finish the fight we’re gonna need more donors and more people to help us fund that research, so we can find that cure and eradicate this disease,” said Donna Stines, executive director of the American Cancer Society. Donations to the American Cancer Society help fund research and education.
