Portfolio Recovery Associates gives big donation to RIFA

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local company is helping children in need in a huge way.

The Snack Backpack program provides small packs of easy-to-fix foods every Friday to children who may go hungry when they’re not at school over the weekend.

“We are in every school in Madison County, every elementary school except one,” RIFA volunteer coordinator Dan Ward said. “The program now services 960 kids a week, 42 weeks a year.”

RIFA says volunteers come every week to pack new sacks for the students. They then are delivered to the schools throughout the week.
