“Clothesline Project” on display in Hub City

JACKSON, Tenn.-A nationwide campaign to end violence against women makes its mark in the Hub City.

Dubbed the “Clothesline Project”, dozens of t-shirts were created by survivors of violence or in honor of someone who experienced violence.
They were on display in The Quad at the University of Memphis-Lambuth Campus, Wednesday.

Participants hope to raise awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent acts against women.

“We want healing, we want those that have suffered to be able to come out of this, not necessarily completely renewed, but more empowered,” said Stacy Miller with Tennessee Correctional Services.

There were 150 shirts on display in support of the 5th year campaign.
