Woman Charged after Crash Injures Three People

JACKSON, Tenn.- Three young people are recovering in a Memphis hospital and a young woman is facing charges after an early morning wreck in Madison County . According to the Madison County’s Sheriff’s Department, Carol Head, 20, was driving the car that ran off the road crashing into a creek. Head was uninjured and is charged with three counts of vehicular assault, DUI, possession of marijuana and reckless driving. The wreck happened on Ed Woods Road near Brooks Lane just after 1 a.m. Three passengers were airlifted for treatment in Memphis. Two are in stable condition and the other is in critical condition. Investigators said inside the car they found open beer containers along with a bag of marijuana and other paraphernalia. Head will return to Madison County General Sessions Court on May 28 for arraignment .
