Man Escapes After Police Chase

WHITEVILLE, Tenn.-Police in Whiteville need help finding a man who led officers on a high speed chase, Thursday afternoon before running off into the woods. Officers recovered a wrecked truck after the chase along Highway 64. Investigators said it had a stolen license plate on the back and things like a crack pipe and a shotgun shell were found inside. Police are looking for the driver, Ernie James Baskin, II, 24 of Memphis. They did not release his picture.
