Jackson’s AMP kicks off concert series in May
JACKSON, Tenn. — The music of the Hub City connects Memphis’ Beale Street and Nashville’s Music Row and will continue to fill the air in West Tennessee beginning in May.
Jackson’s Amphitheater at the Market’s (AMP) 2016 season kicks off May 6 with 11 free performances at the outdoor amphitheater behind West Tennessee Farmer’s Market in the downtown area. This marks the second season for Jackson’s AMP concert series. Live music events will begin at 6:45 P.M. with “Local, Homegrown Musicians Under the Tent” and music on the main stage will begin at 7:30 P.M.
The events at the AMP are family friendly and everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic basket or visit one of the food concessions. Blankets and lawn chairs are also welcome. Free parking is available throughout Downtown. In the event of rain, the performances will be moved to the West Tennessee Farmer’s Market shed.
Jackson’s AMP concert series is a collaborative project between the City of Jackson, West Tennessee Farmer’s Market, Jackson Downtown Development Corporation, Jackson Convention and Visitors Bureau and numerous community volunteers.
