Bomb threat leads to brief evacuation of Criminal Justice Complex in Jackson
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A Tuesday morning bomb threat led to a brief evacuation at the Criminal Justice Complex in Jackson.
Someone called in the threat around 11 a.m. to the J. Alexander Leech Criminal Justice Complex, according to Tom Mapes, public information officer for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The building was evacuated except for the jail while bomb squad specialists checked the building. General Sessions and circuit court were in session at the time of the threat and were evacuated, according to Mapes.
The investigators found no threat, and people were let back inside around 12:15 p.m., according to Mapes.
Mapes said the threat was made from an international call that came over the Internet. He said they know the country of origin but aren’t releasing it at this time.
