March of Dimes ‘Breakfast for Babies’ brings diners to downtown Jackson
DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The smell of bacon and scrambled eggs drew hundreds to downtown Jackson Friday morning for the eighth annual “Breakfast for Babies.”
Guests were greeted by a handful of “Celebrity servers” including WBBJ anchors Keli McAlister, Tom Britt and Tom Meiners.
All proceeds go to the March of Dimes, a nonprofit for pregnancy and baby health. Organizers say their goal is to support families in need.
“We are doing whatever we can to support families that have premature birth, to support the NIC unit at the hospital,” March for Babies chairperson Leonie Hefley said. “We do what we can to be a support to the families. Our goal is to have healthy babies.”
March of Dimes festivities continue next weekend with the Madison County March for Babies at North Side High School.
Organizers say they’re hoping to raise $145,000 through these events.
