2nd man charged in 17-year-old Dickson County homicide case
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say a man is the second person to face charges in connection with a 17-year-old homicide case in Dickson County.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 57-year-old Wallace Brasel, of Lyles, has been indicted on charges of first degree murder and felony murder in the death of Eric Baxter.
Baxter’s body was found in his home on Aug. 20, 1998. Authorities said the 32-year-old man was shot multiple times.
TBI agents and Dickson County Sheriff’s Office investigators worked on the case over a 17-year period. The TBI says they developed information that Brasel, Baxter’s business acquaintance, was involved in the killing. Brasel is being held in jail on $1 million bond.
In October, a grand jury returned indictments charging Brasel’s brother, Tommy Wortham, in connection with Baxter’s death.
