Jackson Business Burglarized Over Memorial Day Weekend

JACKSON, Tenn. – Burglars broke into a downtown Jackson business over Memorial Day weekend. The owner of Scrub and Shine Car Wash said he want his belongings back. Emanuel Bond borrowed tools, Tuesday, because someone stole his over the weekend. “Power tools, air guns,” he said. “They took a buffer. They took parts, everything.” Bond owns Scrub and Shine Car Wash on East Main Street. Sometime between Saturday and Monday he says thieves took more than $1,000 worth of equipment. “Our big 10 gallon shop vac was stolen, so yesterday we had to use a little two gallon you know to get by,” said Myesha Pirtle, an employee. Workers say the burglars broke the back door to get in. They believe the suspect could be a former employee. “I guess we learn to take the loss you know, but we’ll be back on our feet soon,” said Pirtle. Jackson police confirmed they collected fingerprints at the crime scene, but have not made any arrests. “I just want these people to return the things that they took cause they gone get caught,” said Bond. Bond plans to install security cameras and fix his alarm system. If you have information about the break-in call the Jackson Police Department or Crime Stopppers at (731) 424-8477.
