JACKSON, Tenn.-Law enforcement continue to investigate a crash where an 18-wheeler flipped on its side, late Tuesday morning. Jackson firefighters spent a good portion of their morning cleaning up a big mess the tractor-trailer left behind. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the wreck happened shortly after 10 a.m. on Highway 45 North, near the Bypass interchange Madison County sheriff’s deputies and Jackson Police had to block off part of Highway 45 South and the ramp leading up to it. Troopers said a tire on the tractor-trailer blew out, causing the scrap metal it was hauling to shift, and land on its side. EMA officials said fortunately very little oil and fuel leaked from the truck. The driver was taken to a Jackson hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
