Man Dies After Being Pinned Between Truck and Trailer

JACKSON, Tenn. – A Henderson man is dead after investigators said his own semi rolled back on him. Officers are calling it a tragic accident. Dennis Graves, a landlord and friend, stopped by Brian Crane’s home to see if the news was true. “Stunned, shocked, just talked to him the other day,” Graves said. Jackson police said Crane was killed after getting trapped between his semi and a trailer outside of Blue Scope Building Materials in Jackson. “It appeared that what he was doing was attempting to adjust the air pressure in the suspension system of his semi and he had failed to lock the air brakes in the semi,” said Lt. J.D. Hale of the Jackson Police Department. Police said Crane works for A-A Express in Henderson, but was in Jackson picking up the flatbed trailer to make a delivery. Friends said he has been a truck driver for nearly 20 years, and his dog, Bubba, was always his passenger. “And the little dog rode everywhere – California, The Bronx, everywhere the big truck went, the little dog went,” Graves said. Friends said Crane was a great man and dad, who would give you the shirt off his back. “He’s a nice guy. I mean, he would do anything in the world for you,” Graves said. “I never had any problems with him.” A guy they will miss, even though he was always on the road. A-A officials told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they did not want to comment or release any information at this time. Crane’s friends said he worked for the company for about a year.
