Boys and Girls Club host 31st annual “Steak n’ Burger Dinner”

JACKSON, Tenn.-Hundreds gathered at Jackson State Community College for one reason: to show their support for the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson.

The club hosted its 31st annual “Steak n’ Burger Dinner,” Thursday evening. It is the largest fundraiser of the year. Organizers hope to bring in more than $35,000 this year.

During the dinner, it was the kids who got the steaks and the adults who ate the burgers. A fun night that ensures the good of the non-profit continues.

We are able to take our youth to a whole other level. We are able to instill confidence. We are able to help them with academic success and help mentor them,” said Sabrina Anderson, director of the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson.

Mark Kinney was honored as the club’s 2016 “Youth of the Year.” He was among several members of the club to be recognized for their achievements throughout the year.
