Lots to do and see this weekend in West Tennessee
JACKSON, Tenn.-Although this weekend may be a soggy one, that does not mean there will not be anything for you to do.
The rain has not scared away a lot of local events. “The Purple Way 5K” will kick off at the Ballpark at Jackson Saturday morning to benefit epilepsy research. While over at Union University, a West Tennessee bike tour will kick off at 11 a.m.
But if you do not want to be out in the elements, the 60th anniversary of the Casey Jones Railroad Museum might be just what you are looking for.
“The rain’s no problem at all, everything is covered and so we’ll be able to come in see the museum. We’ve got some special activities for the kids, and there’s a kid in everybody that wants to go out and ring that bell on that train,” said Jimmy Bailey with the Casey Jones Museum.
The anniversary celebration goes all day and is free to the public. Also on Saturday, the Trenton Teapot Parade. It will be delayed with a start time of 11 a.m.
