Take Back Day is April 22

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennesseans are being asked to join in on National DEA Take Back Day!

Dea Takeback Day

DEA Take Back Day is set for April 22, the same day as Earth Day, and is aimed at giving everyone the chance to discard unneeded prescription drugs.

“This is a significant event for many reasons,” said TDEC Commissioner David Salyers. “It promotes the disposal of unused drugs from the home, and it is good for the environment, keeping drugs out of our waterways which is where they can end up otherwise. We hope Tennesseans will take part in this important opportunity.”

The day will begin at 10 a.m. and continue to 2 p.m. You can drop off the prescriptions you no longer need at the following locations in West Tennessee:

  • Kroger at 941 North Parkway in Jackson
  • Kroger at 35 West University Parkway in Jackson
  • Family Pharmacy at 6078 S 1st Street in Milan
  • E.W James at 150 Main Street in McKenzie

Other locations can be found in Paris, Puryear, Union City and more. Check out the map to find your nearest location here.

There are year-round locations available too. They include the Jackson Police Department, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and many more. Find that map here.
