Thousands converge on Humboldt for Strawberry Fest, police say they’re ready

HUMBOLDT, Tenn.- As thousands of people get set to converge on Humboldt over the next few days for the the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival, police said they are ready.

More than 150 law enforcement officers from across West Tennessee will converge on the ‘Strawberry City’ to help keep you and your family safe. Officers said they will patrol events throughout the weekend, include the two parades.

Humboldt police said, although it is a challenge, they are up for it.

“It’s stressful to have that amount of people in your home town and just hoping and praying that everything goes well, no incidents and we do all that we can to make sure that happens,” said Chief  Rob Ellis of the Humboldt Police Department.

The junior floats parade gets under way, Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
