Suspect in pharmacy murders held without bond
RUTLEDGE, Tenn. (AP) – A judge in Grainger County has ordered former police officer and homicide suspect Jason Bryan Holt held without bond in the killing of two people during a pharmacy robbery.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/18yDxQp ) reported the court set a June 20 preliminary hearing.
Police said Holt shot and killed drugstore owner Steven Lovell and customer Richard Alexander Sommerville on May 23 during the robbery of Lovell’s Down Home Pharmacy in Bean Station. Investigators said both men had knelt as Holt told them to do before they were fatally shot. Two women in the store were wounded.
Authorities said oxycodone pills were taken in the robbery. When police caught Holt a short time later, they recovered pills and a revolver.
Public defender Ed Miller represents Holt.
