STAT works to fill empty dog bowls

JACKSON,Tenn.-The second Sunday of every month Saving the animals together, or STAT has a monthly pet food distribution.

Because of generous donations the organization is able to give away pet food and sometimes vouchers for pets to be spayed and neutered, according to volunteers.

STAT community outreach coordinator Aeli Appleton said the best way to rescue a pet is help it stay in its home.

“If we don’t provide some resources and some support to pet owners were going to see more animals that are turned in the be euthanized or become strays,” she said.
