Madison Co. Commission talks revenue, expenses, appoints new board members
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison County Commission met Monday to discuss the May term at the West Tennessee Ag and Education Center in west Jackson.

At the meeting, Chief Community Development Officer, Kyle Barron, announced the Tennessee Board of Regents held a meeting for plans to build the Regional Workforce Development Center, a $34.6 million project.
He also said the Jackson Chamber is continuing to work closely with Dixie Jackson as they prepare to open their facility.

Financial director, Karen Bell, also spoke at the meeting, stating the county is $3.8 million ahead for March revenues and expenses, and is doing very well financially for this time of year.
The County Commission also appointed Jeff Clark as the County Building Commissioner, along with eight members to the Municipal Solid Waste Planning Region Board, nine members to the Environmental Advisory-Appeals Board, and seven members to the Madison County Property Code Enforcement Appeals Board.

The County Commission’s next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20.
