Police: Memphis man confesses to September triple slaying

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – A 25-year-old man has been arrested in the triple slaying of two men and a woman who were gunned down inside a northern Memphis duplex last year.

Citing an arrest affidavit, news outlets report that Demarco Hawkins, of Memphis, admitted to police in a written statement Tuesday that he planned the September killings, shot the victims and took property from the duplex.

Hawkins has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 34-year-old Michael Glover, 35-year-old Anthony Isom and 28-year-old Chasity Springfield.

The three were found inside the duplex on Sept. 26 and pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear whether Hawkins has an attorney.
