Chester County vs South Side
JACKSON, Tenn — Chester County Eagles would be in a slugfest early against the South Side Hawks.
Hawks would get on the board first, thanks to Dustin Duck’s RBI, that would score Drew Coley.
Moments later, Tyrin Cox knocks in Duck to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead.
Eagles would get rolling, Harrison Taylor shoots one up the middle getting on base.
Teammate Jacob Ryan, would blast a two run homer to tie the game at 2.
Malcolm Tipler would come in to pitch in the seventh inning, and strikeouts the Hawks batter to end the game, crowning the Eagles as the District 14 AA Champions.
Head coach Mike Goff, said his team had to learn to do the little things right, which resulted in them winning today. They suffered a bunch of one run losses early in the season, but matured and used those losses as learning lessons.
Goff has never made it to state, but believes this team has what it needs, to get the job done.
The Eagles will host Dyersburg at home on Monday.
