Eagles Win In Penalty Kicks

JACKSON, Tenn — The Jackson Christian Eagles traveled to Madison to take on the highly favored Mustangs in the District 15 A-AA District Championship.

The Eagles would get on the board early in the first period. Mustangs would respond before time expired in the first half.

Last 15 minutes of the game, Ian Baldwin, found Mouhamed Elsebae, who scored what everyone thought would be the game winning goal.

But a foul by Luke Coffman on a corner kick would result in a penalty kick for Marshall Davis. He would score to tie the game at 2-2.

The teams battled in four overtimes, and that wasn’t enough so they headed to penalty kicks.

Jackson Christian scored on their first two goals, Mustangs would miss their first two. Madison finally got on the board, following that the Eagles would be stopped on their next attempt. Mustangs added another goal, but Davis, again scored for the Eagles giving them their first ever District Tournament Championship.
