Pellom transfers to Memphis for his final season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Former George Washington forward David Pellom is transferring to Memphis for his final year of eligibility.

Memphis coach Josh Pastner announced Friday in a university release that Pellom had signed with the Tigers. Pellom will enroll for the first summer session that starts Monday.

Pellom graduated from George Washington this spring, which will allow the 6-foot-8 forward to play immediately for Memphis rather than sitting out a year.

He missed the entire 2012-13 season with an injured left wrist, but he averaged 10.4 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds in 2011-12. During the 2011-12 season, Pellom shot 68.5 percent to set a school single-season record and rank fourth nationally in field-goal percentage.
