Jackson Police Searching for Suspicious Man

reported late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Officials said a naked African-American man, with a chubby build and a t-shirt wrapped around his head, tried to attack a woman at an apartment complex near North Highland Avenue and North Parkway around 2:00 a.m. She reportedly fought him off and was able to get away. Around 6:30 a.m. on Murray Guard Drive near Oil Well Road, officials said another woman called police and reported a man fitting the same description jumped out from behind a bush and tried to attack her. She was able to run to a nearby gas station and call for help. The situation has many in the area alarmed. “You know what, as a woman it’s terrifying,” said Pam Begin. “You know I came to Jackson many years ago to get away from crime. It scares me to death because this is a smaller place where you are more apt to run into a nut like this.” “I just can’t believe all the crime in this area,” said Gary Begin. “I’ve been here a little over eight years now, and it‘s just escalated since I’ve been here. Jackson is getting really bad.” This man is still on the loose, and Jackson police are continuing their search efforts.
